Cookies for Troops

June 26, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Next Friday, We will be celebrating July 4th at Tim and Katie’s house. We will also be collecting cookies to send to our troops serving in Iraq. During the days leading up to July 4th, several of our members will be hosting baking events, but if you can’t make it to one of those, please feel free to bake cookies on your own and bring them on Friday. Please make at least three dozen — enough for the troops and to share at the party (we will be voting on the best cookie). The only rule is NO CHOCOLATE CHIPS. Chocolate chips melt in the dessert. You can, however, use M&Ms, because the milk chocolate melts in your mouth, not… well you know the rest.

Ugly Shirt Bowling

June 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Last night Tampa Jaycees members met at Pin Chasers on Armenia for a delightful evening of Ugly Shirt Bowling. Ugly Shirt Bowling is a Tampa Jaycees tradition. Young professionals from the Tampa Bay area don the ugliest shirt in their closet, to meet for a friendly game of bowling. This year’s shirts were especially hideous, as you can see below. When your shirt matches the bowling ball, that can’t be good.
